Sparkle Over the Holidays With a Facial

You’ve probably heard of the fascinating statistic about the skin being your body’s largest organ to the tune of about 20 square feet. As interesting as that might be, what does it really mean in the context of everyday life? In a word: Everything.

Your skin is essentially the first line of protection between you and microbes, such as bacteria and viruses. It plays an important role in adjusting your body’s temperature, and it allows you to sense heat and cold and feel what you touch. As if that weren’t enough, your skin, or more specifically your face, is the first thing people see when you meet someone, whether in an in-person meeting or a Zoom call.

As we enter the holiday season, your overall appearance will be as much in the spotlight as your Thanksgiving meal or holiday gifts. In this blog, Kimi Hunt, LMT, our own in-house aesthetician and massage therapist here at Chiropractic Health Care Center Of Glendora, shares her thoughts on how a facial can make you sparkle this holiday season.

What’s involved in a custom facial?

Facials are definitely not a one-size-fits-all treatment. After all, each person’s skin is a little different. At Chiropractic Health Care Center Of Glendora, Kimi begins each facial with a brief consultation to find out more about your skin care goals and your at-home skin care routine. This information helps her select the type of facial that’s best for you. Next, Kimi uses steam to open your pores so she can properly cleanse your skin. After that, Kimi applies a toner to rebalance your skin’s Ph levels.

Then she uses an enzyme mask or peel to exfoliate your skin and remove dull and dead skin. If needed, she performs an extraction to take care of blackheads and other similar issues. Then she gives you a soothing face massage and applies a treatment mask.

Kimi then removes the treatment mask with a warm towel and applies pharmaceutical grade serums, eye creams, and moisturizers and allows them to soak into your skin. To complete the facial session, Kimi provides tips and recommendations for at-home skin care.

Benefits of custom facials

Custom facials at Chiropractic Health Care Center Of Glendora have many benefits. Here are some of them:

Look and feel great fast

Our custom facials take about 60 minutes. If you’ve ever had a facial, you know that the experience can leave you feeling pampered and relaxed. But our custom facials are so much more. As a licensed esthetician and massage therapist, Kimi knows the important role that massage plays in increasing circulation and promoting healthy skin.

Cleans, renews, and restores your skin

The pampering aspect of a facial is definitely a perk, but facials are basically the ultimate do-over. The ability to periodically undo or reset damage to your skin caused by exposure to the sun as well as natural aging can’t be understated. Plus, our facials take into account unique skin conditions, such as dry or oily skin.

Uses biogenic, toxin-free ingredients

Kimi performs facials using a unique, toxin-free skin care line called Sanitas Skincare®. What’s really noteworthy about these products is they’re biogenic, which means they contain substances that are already in your body. Simply put, because this exclusive skin care line contains naturally occurring ingredients, your skin knows what to do with them.

Why not start the holiday season out with a gift for yourself? Your skin’s radiant, healthy glow will leave your family and friends wondering what your secret is regardless of whether you celebrate in-person or virtually.
